Scotland metal detecting permission required for treasure hunter

Hi

I'm hoping that someone on this forum from Scotland will give me permission to metal detect on their farm land in the Scotland area

I am a 56 year old ex farm worker from Wales my wife is Scottish we both love archaeology. Apart from crown estates property I have no other land to search.

I am a member of the National Council for Metal Detecting. I am extremely courteous, trustworthy and tidy in my detecting and will adhere to any rules/instructions requested by the landowner there will be no open holes left behind. I am interested in local history and archaeology in Scotland including the missing millions of bonny prince Charles.

Thank you for reading my post. I realise that farmers are very busy people and hard working and understand that just like farmer Johnson in staffordshire who was happy when he allowed a search detector into a field the farmer said had been searched before and pointed out nothing was found they both ended up sharing £3.3 million.

so the next decent find could well be in Scotland on a field of stubble.

Welcome...I despise the phrase "Treasure Hunter" I prefer "Metal Detectorist" as 99% of what we find is metal and not much "Treasure".
Aside from that I gather Scotland is rather large.... you may need to put your nearest town as a location? :)
