It has a big advantage over the combi clamp in that if operated by one man he can go back to fill the race without fear of sheep getting away.
Totally agree but it is more akin to the racewell than the combi clamp. Will be interesting to see where he prices it, but I'm guessing it'll make a combi clamp look cheap.

Be very careful. If it's the same company / man, then I bought a hydraulic cattle crush off him. Great bit of kit at a good price. However, I did wonder if I was ever going to receive it....... Not a great experience.

If it's a reasonable price he will sell plenty im betting! The only thing that makes a combi clamp look cheap is a fendt......

What's your problem with the combi clamp? Most users (inc myself) say brilliant bit of kit. If this is anywhere near the same money (sub £2k) then I shall be in the queue for 1 and swap for my combi if it's as good as first impressions from the vid. But I suspect it'll be more like £5k+

When i was chatting to him at Scotsheep, he mentioned a price and at the time I thought it was very reasonable. I wouldn't like to repeat the figure on here as I forget the exact spec it was for. I will phone him when harvest is finished here and try get a demo,

Can't speak for Andy, but my problem is I know my ewes won't go up the race to the clamp... it's always going to be a 2 man job pushing up and catching. That's no good to me.

Did you have a demo where they wouldn't run?
Plenty of people do use them alone. Set up right and with a half decent dog behind. Let them run through a time or 2 without stopping to get used to it.

I did have a problem with a group of lambs the other day that just would not run. Don't know why, 2 of us had a job to keep them running. Think that would have been the same even with an auto job. I said then I should have just let them run through a time or 2. Next group were no issue at all. Not had a group like it before.

Weighing is the only time I really wish it was automated, cos it doesn't seem to zero accurately if I get off the tread plate to poke the odd one up.

These auto squeezers look nice but i would worry about the longevity of them. Guy who buys our lambs was here today and they have worn through 2 floors on their combi clamp and it's still going strong! Best thing about the combi clamp is its simplicity.
