Scotsqueeze sheep clamp

Just bumping this thread...

I was at Lockerbie In Lamb NCC ewe sale today, and in the car park was the Scotsqueeze set up for demonstration. Looks decent in the flesh, as it were. Sadly nobody was about to talk to - it was getting cold, the sale was finished. Most folks were in the canteen or, like me, heading home.

The sticker on the side said "version 2" so im guessing theres been alterations to the original. It looked well made - hopefully these guys have the resources to keep pushing forward. They could well be onto something pretty big.

Saw the scotsqueeze video on YouTube of the cattle crush, all bells and whistles it looks the part, anybody know the price? Shame it's not galvanised though.

so these scotsqueeze auto clamps with a magiceye, manual drafter but no weighing parts are around £3k. That surely cant be bad?

I am looking to build new pens and instead of having a working race everything will be done in a clamp of some sort apart from that just need a separate stand in foot bath.

There was a full Scotpen setup and their auto catcher on Rancher's stand.

But I never saw a Scotpen stand.

The auto catcher was the peak hill one was it not it was only that and the rancher one I saw on the rancher stand? Actually thought there was a distinct lack of sheep stuff at the show this year! I went needing to look at tag readers and was surprised at the lack of options!

I thought that's all the Scotpen auto catcher was - the peakhill one? Scotpen were at Dumfries Show last year, and that is the auto catcher which they were demonstrating...

The Scotsqueeze in this thread is nothing to do with Scotpen.

Alligator, Prattley, Rappa, Rancher, Modulamb were all there... there were a few tag companies, too. But pass on anyone showing readers, i have never looked at/for them.

Scotpen had a catcher at Scotsheep and the Highland show last year and it looked just like a combi clamp except it worked off a remote rather than your foot but wasn't as near a big a thing as the Peakhill one.

I went to the show eager to see the scotsqueeze clamp as well. Looked at it last year and was impressed, and I am now looking to improve my set up. The rancher guys let them demonstrate it on their stand last year as a favour while the Leggates were developing the idea. Since 2016 rancher has been bought over by Clive Mauldsley who owns scotpen so they have their own manufacturing base in Castle Douglas. They had agreed to let scotsqueeze show it on the stand at sheep southwest earlier this season but he just never turned up. Apparently he wanted to demonstrate it again this year at the highland but scotpen were rightly hacked off and said no. Having spoken to few folk involved in the industry, the leggates have a habit of letting people down and may even have money problems.
It's a pity because I really liked what I saw and would have been very keen on their idea. Am now back to trying to persuade myself that the Ritchie combi clamp is worth what they want for it!!

That's disappointing at it seemed a great bit of kit but if they can't realistically supply them or back up there's no point holding out for it! I'm suprised a bigger company eg Rappa/IAE didn't take up manufacturing of them! On a similar note what's the best price people have been quoted for a combi clamp?

Apparently the scotsqeeze was at the show, down beside where they were showing the sheep and animal lairage area,I was at the show and never seen them but spoke to someone who said they were there.
I'm still interested in one but they need to get a move on,people can't wait for ever!

They must have been well hidden because I spent a bit of time down there and never saw them at all. I really like the idea and like you wish they would get it rolled out or get involved with a manufacturer. 50% share of a lot of good sales is surely better than 100% share of a small number of disgruntled buyers

waitng for quote to come in. A lot of optional extras so hard to get direct comparison.
Saw the knock off one on ebay last night as well. Can't think it is cheap enough to justify the chance you would need to take. I'm not sure Ritchie will be very impressed

Yep beside the stand selling pedigree tart up supplies

Looked at it , far from polished , felt needed to be at least another 5/6" taller

Feeling inspired I spoke to Scotpen today and reckon they are testing something they think is better just now and are hoping to unvale it at the royal Welsh. Supposedly cheaper and more simple that the Scotsqueeze so watch this space.....

It's bound to be pushing the copyright boundaries that's for sure! It does say make an offer I wondered about throwing in a cheeky one just to see!
