The backs are the share faces .Sides coulter face. These furrows have shine right across the share face, its hard to get on the crown, the slices are lighter and so less press on the shareView attachment 740814
I didn’t mean the top of the general work I meant on the backs of the furrs in the openings and finishes like this pic

You saw those photos a long time ago, the only thing changed was the shares, they were Hand made without any checking fixture so may well not be quite the same. There is some pairing in the standard share photo, and I think I have found the cause, but last season was so unusual that I cant be certain.Never will shine both crown furrows unless the ground cuts out really well. Besides being shallow, on a mounted plough only one of them benefits from being under a wheel mark.
Lots of things affect shine. Condition of ground. Condition of shares, discs and their position fore, aft as well as lateral distance away from the share, their position up or down. Skimmers and also their position fore and aft, up or down.
Sort your plough out Harry. Looks as though either...... the boards are out of parallel / the front body is ploughing deeper / the skimmers are set differently or at different depths.
I once jokingly said to a current top class Classic ploughman as I was driving past his finished plot “ that’s a nice job,,,,I can tell you did that with a 2 furrow plough!” His reply was simply to load up and go home.

Same here, still half inch cracks in some of it, so was coming up in lumps, even in Hampshire land, at Petersfield.Land round here still not recovered from the summer although today is doing its level best to make amends for any lack of rainfall!
