Anyone had any bad experiences with them !??
They must be about the worst company we have ever had dealing with !!

In process of arguing with them atm and they’re taking some fighting... haven’t sent me a bill for my gas for 2 years but apparently it’s my fault that I never rang them and submitted them a meter reading so that they would realise they hadn’t sent me a bill for my gas in all that time...

Owe them £400 they say... I asked them too stand half it and if stand the other half.. they offered me £25... have put my complaint too the energy ombudsman but have too wait 8 weeks for scottish power too attempt too resolve the problem and for them too pick my claim up 🤦🏻‍♂️

We are about to go to the obudsman too ,
It's over a property we brought of a neighbouring farm that was already with scottish power , have been on to them for 6 months,
Probably the most unhelpful company ever !

Funnily enough that’s how I was sorry enough too end up having them as my supplier I thought “Oh previous owner had them save any hassle iv enough of that I’ll just stick with them make life easier” turns out if been paying nearly double what I should have been paying on my electric and not even paying for my gas 🤦🏻‍♂️ now the barstewards won’t let me leave either until I pay for the gas

Yes.......

Never ever have anything to do with Scottish power, it's like talking to a brick wall.
We wrote to the chief executive expecting a reply............

.......... still waiting

This was probably 10 years ago now..........still makes me angry...

They are anuses of the first order. I hope there is a particularly smelly corner in Hell reserved for their credit control people who, I imagine, get their kicks setting the Sheriffs on single parent widowed young mothers in Dundee tenements.
It took 5 years to sort a closing reading for my daughter, with a balance of £17, but which they had managed to escalate to £598. Despite the fact that we would have seen them in court at any time, with all the evidence, they have the benefit of being able to lodge a default notice against your name and address in the meantime, which then shows on your credit file.
Frankly I hope the bas@#$ds go bankrupt just before Christmas, and throw all their office staff on the dole.

Scottish power are horrifically bad at every turn. No matter what department or however simple something is to sort it will go wrong. Didn’t get any FIT payment for solar panels for 3years because of their incompetence. Also left without power for 3 months at harvest time a couple of years ago after trying to upgrade the lines. Offered £300 in compensation when I had sent them invoices for hire of generator, diesel to run it, electrician cost to plumb farm into it, hire insurance etc totalling 6k. Got NFU involved which helped get money back eventually. Dont accept their bull poo and keep pushing them in these circumstance. Go elsewhere otherwise.

Yeah worst company on every level, rotten to the core, there's a facebook page "scottish power name and shame" gives you an idea of the scale of their disregard for customers

I have a meter that was on an old tarrif which had a summer and winter season. Wintertime, I'm locked out of two phases do can't run big fans. Took them months to admit it even existed. Then they would change the meter. But covid means they can't send a meter fitter to stand in my shed two miles from anyone else. But it was fine for them to send estimated bills (£200 - nil usage as I cant turn my fan on) despite admitting I can't use any electric. Then they threatened the bailiffs, who clearly can come during covid, to get estimated money for a meter supplying a fan I can't use.

Took them 4 years to get my bill sorted after we moved here.

They have 5m customers. If each has an annual estimate £60 above the actual usage then do the sums as to how to get a large interest-free loan.
They chased my daughter as a student for a wrong meter reading and eventually said she owed £3000. That would have been like boiling 3 kettles 24 hours a day for 3 months. Thankfully she told us before agreeing a 'payment plan' but they had already persuaded her to put an expensive pre-paid meter in. Only owed about £100 once all sorted. I should have gone for compensation but they just wear you down.

The threat of bailiffs is a huge bluff. Stare them out, they will sell the debt onto another lowlife who will do the same, ignore and eventually the debt is written off.
