A spectacular array of vintage tractors will take to the road in Scotland this weekend in aid of cancer charities. The Mearns Vintage Vehicle Club will stage a tractor run from Laurencekirk to Brechin on Sunday, July 18.
The run will start from road haulage and transport business Douglas Mitchell Ltd. in Laurencekirk at 9.30a.m, and a convey of around 60 tractors will make its way to the Brechin depot of leading Scottish tyre specialists Soltyre.
All proceeds will be split between the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Cancer Ward and the Friends of ANCHOR unit at the same hospital, the central hub of cancer and haematology care for northeast Scotland.
The event is being supported by Goodyear Farm Tires, which remains extremely popular amongst the vintage tractor fraternity.
Mike Robertson, of Mearns Vintage Vehicle Club, said: “Everyone is really excited about the event.
“Our activity has obviously been heavily restricted over the last 15 months but we have had a few opportunities to get back on the road in recent times.
“We are delighted to have the support of Goodyear Farm Tires as, for many vintage enthusiasts, they remain the Holy Grail and there is no doubt many of the tractors on display on the day will be carrying Goodyear Farm Tires product.”
Natalie Dukes, marketing manager of Goodyear Farm Tires, said:
“We will have product on display when the tractors arrive at Soltyre and there will be plenty of Goodyear Farm Tires merchandise available too and we hope it forms part of an excellent day for everyone taking part.”
