Where do you take your scrap to @ste ? Mr Howard at Tansley? Not the top price there but he is a likeable chap and local

Just come back from taking some non ferrous to our local one and got

£4000/ton for Dry bright copper wire
£3300/ton for Clean copper cylinders
£1100/ton for Lead
£3500/ton copper pipes and fittings
£500/ton Old rolled ali
£450/ton Batteries

Probably my most productive morning for a while

Take all my big stuff to Mr Howard, this was at Planet Metal at Clay Cross. Mr Howard's not the best price, but local enough and pretty sensible on whats on the load lol

EMR £60-65

Turned out they were happy to call it shearings so I got paid £90/t. Pity it was only just over 1t!

I have an old JCB loading shovel and a Massey 865 combine as investments. Wasn't sensible enough to cash in when they were worth £250 a ton, but thinking of cutting my losses and letting them go now.

worth shopping around the yards , had £90 tonne today ,(kings) other yard (who is usually the best ) was only £30- 45 , mostly light crap exhausts etc with a old rear end loader and couple domestic boilers on top .
