As big as you can carryAnyone ideas on the size I’d need to get a 24t digger down to?
And what price is a counter weight per ton?
a few years ago, the price was hardly any less than chopping them up and was hassle free for me. Fella said it would give the lads something to do when its quite. might be worth asking the question.Anyone ideas on the size I’d need to get a 24t digger down to?

Were you going to drive it there??Trouble is I want the engine and rad out of it,not something easy to move once its not moving itself.
No but you can push a 13t machine onto a low loader or hooklift, last time I needed to move my 24t machine when it blew a hydraulic pipe on the track motor it took x2 loadalls and my 14t machine to move it 6'.Were you going to drive it there??

If you pulled the pinion shaft out of the track motors a tractor would pull it.No but you can push a 13t machine onto a low loader or hooklift, last time I needed to move my 24t machine when it blew a hydraulic pipe on the track motor it took x2 loadalls and my 14t machine to move it 6'.

my local yard drill into them before paying outNot all counterweights are made from steel, many are now concrete filled, and as such are almost worthless

Surprising that.....cheaper I'm sure but adds a lot of bulk as concrete isn't half as heavy.
