Yes but its a long way from Norfolk to bring it to you
I should read what I write. That should have been than. At 300$ is about 180 pounds a ton. The scrappies must be making good money off of the metal right now. When I was unloading yesterday there was a pile of new off cuts. Every size a workshop could need. I offered him double what he paid but he laughed and said its worth more to load on a rail car and send to the ports.

Are you insuating scrap men are bent ?
many years ago, I knew someone who took a load into Hereford, but he had a weighbridge at home so knew the weight, it was significantly under, however, it was a wet grain bin, that was lined with plywood, and by wet I mean soaking! So, he didn't complain at all. I don't know the truth of the story, however, I was told it over bait and was chatting to the man too who lined the bin, and Charlie said the plywood was soaked too.

Sold this safe to Transit tipper geezers a few years ago. They were going to fill it with soil, snap the key off in the lock, and weigh it in. :)

The scrappy has to win , if they didn’t everyone would take the p!ss all the time , like your guys with the safe
Never cheated a scrappy in my life & always been honest about the rusty crap I'm offloading, but there was an occasion where I allowed a transit tipper outfit to take some stuff without telling them exactly what they were taking. They thought that they were being clever offering a low price for the pile that included a heap of gym weights that weren't actually metal and a transformer housing that had already been robbed! The air was blue when the old guy twigged, but after he calmed down he had a laugh with me about it.
