When I were a lad,
1" box £6 length
1 1/2" box £9 length
2" box £12 length
was that price for years.

Could it? World economy must be in for some serious downturn thenWeighed 6t of heavy in this week at £125/t. Got rid of most when it was around £200/t, but it could get a lot lower going forward, so not holding onto any.

What do you think the shipping container prices will come back down to?The world economy is in free fall.
I‘m waiting for shipping container prices to hit the buffers as I’ve a project for some in a year or two.
If the shipping job collapses timing might be right.
I’d hope a 40ft high cube would come from nearly £3k to more like £2k.
Price of steel world wide, could see less of the single trip containers, and used again a few times and less coming on the open market,I’d hope a 40ft high cube would come from nearly £3k to more like £2k.
If steel follows scrap then there is a bit of room for a drop.Price of steel world wide, could see less of the single trip containers, and used again a few times and less coming on the open market,
Doubt they will come down much, they will follow the steel prices
It's the cost of new containers that will goven it,If steel follows scrap then there is a bit of room for a drop.
Suppose it may do as demand falls with the recession. It's the cost of new containers that will goven it,
Scrap price has fallen, has new steel
Haywards at Ruabon will send a big skip for free as long as it’s over 2 tonSame here when I get around to it. I did shift some at its peak and still only got £200 rather than the quoted £300 on here, not that it makes or breaks me anyway. I would sooner have the £200 than have to pay for a skip to get rid of it.

May be but they are the rules. You are the seller so it is up to you to charge VAT where applicable.Never have done here or any of my neighbours, vat has never been mentioned.
Better when we could get paid in cash, new rules havent stopped metal thefts .May be but they are the rules. You are the seller so it is up to you to charge VAT where applicable.
The scrapyard won't mind, all payments are recorded anyway nowadays and they will be VAT registered so just claim it back anyway.
