New steel is currently at an 8 month low so ’d be tempted to cash the scrap in now in case it follows it down. What do people reckon which way scrap prices will go should I cash in now or do people reckon it'll go up more
What is steel per tonne roughly£?New steel is currently at an 8 month low so ’d be tempted to cash the scrap in now in case it follows it down.
Where tooFarm scrap £160/ton
If it's farm waste and your vat registered then you charge vat, if it's an old car that's your personal property then no. Alternatively you do like a lot and put it through your other half's bank account ,good idea to occasionally do a load with VAT in case you get an inspection from vat or taxWhat is the situation regards vat on scrap payments
Just tell the scrapyard there is VAT to pay on it. You give them a VAT invoice, they pay you scrap price plus VAT and then they claim the VAT back. Thanks for the replies I have quite a bit to take in just want to be sure where I am with vat
Cheers
