scraper tractor pics!!

I am sadly lacking in local knowledge when it comes to engineering firms. We do most of our maintenance ourselves and could have tackled this job but I needed to crack on with other things so I just reached for the 'phone. Should haver consulted the wise ones on here...:sorry::facepalm::scratchhead:

Poured 2 bottles of "head gasket sealant " in a porous 4610 engine I had. Still OK 2 years later.
Cheap fix for about £80, I think. Too late now if it's being pulled apart at the dealers.......

Edit.. better it gets done 'right' though, as scraper tractor gets used daily.

ok... a short engine and the palava that goes with it.. not gunna be cheap but should ensure the tractor lasts another 39 years...

while its there i might even put a new seat on it..

she needs a replacement cab, floor and some lower link arms.. where should i be sending her in the summer for a revamp?

Disaster..

4600 Water in the oil...

Dreaded porous block...

4110 on scraper duties. For half an hour until hydraulic s started @rsing about..now Antares..

Time for a short engine? Or cut and run..?
Could be core plugs under rocker cover shaft, rocker cover off, drain oil, fill rad with water and pressurise.
66-6610 exhaust ? Grill ? Is there a wheel missing off your silage pusher, will You be re building the engine?;).

no defo a crack near cylinder 3..
6610 yes...

original grill fell victim to a bull...

there is a wheel missing.. bearing disintegrated and shaft done in..

engine being replaced .. with a short block ..

she's 39 . might get her slightly restored for her 40th if i get good recommendations

Well my 46 came back and is humming along nicely...well was....

We thought we ought to change the gearstick as she occasionally jumped out of selector forks, driving my long suffering cowman mad..so . easy job...

Chap tasked with the job changed the stick easy enough but then wasn't paying attention when air wrenching the lid back on..the high low selector stick wasn't aligned properly and bang went the selector rod..:mad::mad::mad::cry:

So.. after a very expensive engine transplant i have a motionless 46 again:arghh::arghh:
