Scraper tractor problem.

While scraping up today the tractor started to act like it was pulling hard. If you put revs on it struggled to actually rev and there was loads of black reek.

Was just like it was short of air IMO.

It has no battery on so been idling quite a bit lately so I don't have to run it off again would this affect anything?

Tractor is a 35x and had engine done up ten years ago and run like a Swiss watch since then.

Anybody any ideas? @multi power ? @REStractorATION ?

Hey yea right check the basics
Water/radiator clear
Oil
Oil pressure
Air filter clear just take the pipe off 1st to try and eliminate the issue 1st of all
Can you turn engine over buy hand when stopped
I wouldnt say its fuel starvation related at this stage

Will it rev up when standing still .and still smoke
Or just when moving??
The battery issue wont really have any thing to do with i wouldnt think

What does the oil gauge read when on tick over

It has an oil bath air cleaner. Never been in there all the time I've had it do they need an oil change ever?

Could be the carbon I suppose since it's been sat ticking over. Does it need a dam good thrashing?

Carbon build up wont just happen as a problem unless its trapped somewere and wedged a valve say or blocked a port

The air filter take bottom off an empt oil out and wipe all the crap out and refill wi engine oil up to the level

A thrasing will kill or cure try it nowt to loose imo
