Screen size for cleaning oats in a rotary cleaner?

I've just sold my oats, but they could do with being run through the rotary dresser to take out the worst of the short straw.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a mesh size for oats, and if slotted, should the slots run along the length of the machine or around the outside?

It's an old TripBat cleaner, soon to be replaced with a Turner pre-cleaner.

- If I didn't get any replies here I was going to ask your dad what you run in the Marot

4mm sounds about right. I did find a guide online last night for an American dresser which suggested '10/64ths', which is a hair off 4mm, so I'll go for that.

Next question, do the slots run long ways along the barrel, or do they run pointing around the circumference?
