Screw driver bits for impact driver

I'm considering getting an 18v makita impact driver and just wondering which "bits" people prefer to buy? Do you buy the cheapest possible in bulk bags and accept that you might snap 1 every 8/10 screws or is there a good quality bit available? I know in the past I've managed to wreck pozi bits on a normal drill.

So which do you prefer? Cheap and nasty or high quality?

I would make sure you use decent quality ones, if it's good quality hardwood you are screwing you will be changing them every screw!! The key is to make sure the you get the right pozi bit for the screws

I only used to buy wera but the quality has gone down the pan, they don't last any longer than standard bits now. I buy tubs of 25 dewalt for about a fiver when there on offer.

@DFC I completely agree about making sure you use the correct bit but even then the way these impact drivers bang screws in there is a lot of stress on the bit and screw head alike. I dont have a particular forte in wookword it would just be general use as and when something wants bodging together

@S J H 25 bits for a fiver doesn't seem daft money and I would've thought dewalt would have a bit of quality about them, I shall have a scout about the internet and see whats on offer

If been impressed with them really, wera used to last for a long time but the last lot only lasted as long as the dewalts. Wera are around £2 each.

The screws will make a difference as well. Spax are superb, but silly money, they'll take a lot less driving.
