Sealing and painting new concrete

Just concreted a 20’ square small workshop which I shall paint. Should I seal with some specialist sealer or pva? Or just water down paint for first coat?

You want to seal it first, stops it going a little dusty/powdering up

Wickes sell some clear sealer or if your flush you could use sikafloor proseal or armourex but only comes in 20L drums

New concrete takes about six months to dry out. You can try and seal it or wait for it to dry.
Quick test to see if it is dry is to put a piece of clear plastic on it, lay some wood round it or anything heavy enough to stop it blowing away. Ideally so no air can get under it within reason. Leave it 24 hours if it is wet on the underside of the plastic you still have moisture in the concrete, not ideal painting conditions.

Have you thought of epoxy resin paint coating, miles better than a polyurethane floor paint and will last 10x longer.

Epoxy will last longer as they tend to be two pack but if the concrete is still full of moisture all paints will lift.
