Second wiring kit for Ez Steer and CFX 750

Anyone found any other way of getting around the £850 or so for another set of wires for a CFX 750 and EZ steer to move between tractors? That's only for the wires between the CFX to power to the T2 terrain unit and from the T2 unit to the EZ Steer controller!!!!!

Anyone else make the wires up or is it Trimble only???

Thanks

Why do you need the wires? Far cheaper if you are moving the CFX,T2 and EZ steer to move the wires as well. I just have a power cable and T2 plate and EZ steer bracket in each vehicle, everything else has to move!

When I asked someone from Trimble at cereals about moving kit between machines he told me £2000 per machine, not sure if that meant, antenna, mounts and wiring etc per machine then just move box and ez-pilot or whether that was just wiring?

Oh I see. I went the scruffy way and laid them in a bundle on the floor of the cab!

As mentioned above the cheapest way to move the Trimble CFX-750 display and Trimble EZ-Steer assisted steering system between vehicles is to install a Trimble CFX-750 display basic power cable along with a Trimble EZ-Steer platform kit and T2 controller plate into each vehicle you are looking to move the system into and then use your existing Trimble CFX-750 display and Trimble EZ-Steer cabling when moving the system between vehicles.

You would need to purchase a full wiring kit for the Trimble CFX-750 display and Trimble EZ-Steer assisted steering system if you wanted to hardwire all of the vehicles you were looking to move the system into. Although this may be more expensive it certainly makes moving the Trimble EZ-Steer between vehicles a lot quicker and saves moving cabling regularly.

The £2000.00 figure quoted above at Cereals 2014 sounds more like a price for a full platform kit for a Trimble Autopilot automated steering system. We are more than happy to arrange quotes for full wiring kits on Trimble EZ-Steer and Trimble EZ-Pilot assisted steering systems and Trimble Autopilot automated steering system to give an exact idea of costs if needed.

If we can be of any further assistance regarding the above please get in touch.

Hi, I am too trying to move my CFX 750 and EZ steer from one vehicle to another, some of the cables have been well and truly plumbed in and others are still loose in the cab. Could you possibly itemise all the cables so I have an idea of which ones I require to order to get it set up in the new vehicle.

Cheers

You would think in 2014 all this could be done wirelessly, but as usual it will become an upgrade for several thousand more! Technology probably there allready but milking this bit first.

Would you prefer some batteries at the steering wheel unit and the screen that need to be carried home twice a day for charging? They will need wiring for power, not much difference if the plug has more wires for control data too. The Trimble approach is to have the GNSS receiver integrated to the screen, it needs a coax from the antenna. Some bits could well be wireless to ease up wiring but I would use a hydraulic steering valve as one of the first steps if I wanted to make the cabin clean (also for many other reasons). Some features are too time critical to go over a multiplexed commercial radio interface like bluetooth or WLAN.

Agriculture is a very noisey(electrical interference ) environment! I have doubt wireless would work. As mentioned, charging screen up each day or half way through day is not ideal

Please do get in touch, we would be more than happy to arrange a quote for a wiring kit for a Trimble EZ-Steer assisted steering system with cabling itemised so you can see what exactly what you need for each of your different vehicles.

Have just been quoted just over £8000 for an ez pilot with transfer kits and platform kits (fitted)for three vehicles is that right??
I am pretty sure I would never see that money back so plus the 750 with vra £3000 and if I wanted to go rtk ££££?? I don't think my kids would see it back either!!

When i looked into it an ez pilot, 750 screen, platform kit and wiring was just over £5 k but that was to fit yourself with telephone support. New holland equivalent was couple of hundred less. In the end i bought new tractor gps ready and had 750, nav11 controller fitted by Soil Essentials. Good service.

We have just had a 750 screen, ez pilot, tractor platform kit, new steering wheel, all professionally fitted to a tractor for £4800 all in. It was an out of season offer though (April), and NH badged.
The tractor platform kit was £400, which is the only bit extra you need if you move between vehicles as far as I can see (unless you have another set of cables).
Wouldn't imagine its a quick job to swap though.

Surely soon somebody will buy these looms strip them down go to rs components and make them up for a few quid, which they must cost. Then whack an advert in farmers weekly laughing all the way. Then watch the manufacturers prices drop. They charge what they can get away with.

And watch your warranty become void.

You could probably make your own cables. All you would need is a 12 pin Deutsch connector and an rs323 connector. Below is the pin out of the a or b connector on the display.

Then you would have to make the power cables and run a coaxial cable to the roof for the antenna. This would only cost a few hundred dollars at most. Hope this helps
