Secondhand tyres

What would members think about tractor tyres that are 18 plus years old that have been barely used, inflated and stored undercover for most of their life?

Are they cracked or perished?
How do we know how old "new" tyres are?
Are they date stamped?

Fine on a classic for occasional play days or road runs etc.
Probably not up to the job on mainline tractor. Is it worth the saving?

My DB is still wearing the tyres I put on in 1988.

I've been told these are north of 40!, older than me!, and only one has been off once in that time for a puncture repair. Filled to neck with water too.
Really r due a change mind!, but still does all hay tedding and the occasional bit of drain filling with box loads of 2" stone

Probably fine, wouldnt worry me, check for perishing.

Yes, some maybe not as close to the bead

I think they will be fine although they can harden and split when put to use
In general they should be fine
