Section control spreader

Currently i have a KRM EX which i bought in the mid 90's to operate at 24 m. Now we're up to 36 m i think a move to a spreader with section control would offer sufficient savings to justify a replacement. The EX will spread to 36m with E8 vanes but can't help thinking a section control unit would be better.
With no reason to replace my current spreader for 25 years, i am a little under educated.
There is plenty KRM/Bogballe and Amazone spreaders in my area, but not much else' this is down to good sales technique or good machinery, or both.
I have no reason to buy anything than another Bogballe.
The question is Blue or Green ?

Use Amazone zats with section controll
saves fertiliser with accurate ins and outs and on gores enough to pay for section control with gps speed control 5 too 10% saving
non of the previous areas of flat crop or underdosed areas

kv/or vicon the choice is yours but its the only choice if you want true section control and not just a spreader that slows the discs down

I have a KRM m2w. It’s 4 years old and I have been using the auto section control for a year, new tractor with section control on it. My spreader is isobus controlled which works very well. It is simple plug it in and it works. Everything is on the tractors screen plug in the rate and go. Section control works and I don’t notice any issues in the crop after. Headland setting is easy again just turn off pto and press the button. I have had no issues at all With the machine.

@samsung i would say if you have got on well with KRM definitely look at them again.

Personally though if I had to make a choice I’d take take weigh cells and auto on/off over section control (it’s nice to have all 3 though?).
Although there’s a saving to be had with the section control the automatic rate calibration with weigh cells and the knowledge your putting on the exact right amount make spreading fert a much more stress free and pleasant experience! I think the geo spread actually saved my sanity as my old man use to really struggle to get the right amount on:facepalm:

I got this last year and I’m very pleased with it. It’s not a full geo spread but it will do basic section control by altering the rate not the spread pattern and it will turn its self on and off

Can you get spreaders that will accurately enough spread slug pellets now that we have ferric? Would weigh cells be an issue at that rate? Come to think of it, could they spread rapeseed?

What sort of price are these fancy spreaders?

At such a low rate for slug pellets and osr I'm pretty sure they can't do section control. Weigh cells would be accurate enough as they go down to 1kg.

With variable rate p&k We’re spreading as low as 10-20kg/ha in some parts of fields, the weigh cells work in 1kg increments so it pretty accurate.

As for price, there’s a lot of things to factor in - hopper size, spread width, do you need gps, what screen do you want or have you an iso-bus tractor, do you need any activations, etc etc.
Can’t put a price on making the job easier though ?

Thanks. I should be interested to hear if anyone has applied pellets or OSR in this way? Seems like it could make the OSR establishment job even cheaper and less risky and CTF friendly!!

We Spread slug pellets with Amazone zats calibrated using the Amazone trays although Scs will do it
on 27 m
i would think rape will not throw far enough
we used our Avadex spreader for rape seed spreading before that we used 2 stocks on the sprayer

put a cc camera in the tank to see when it has run out
