£507 for Redigo Deter dressed Basset. Normally only buy seed to change variety so got a couple of tons and will farm save next year, if its any better than what we have at the moment.

There used to be routine use of insecticide on bought rape seed we now see widespread resistance to insecticide in CSFB. What is to stop the same thing happening with aphids?

Different mode of action on the seed treatment (neonicotinoid). That prolonged the effectiveness of the post emergence pyrethroids. The same applies for cereals. You need to understand that the chemicals are unrelated.

Yes, Deter is worth the money. Without question.

Growing cereals further east carries a lower risk of BYDV. Out west without it drilling in early September is playing Russian Roulette with 5 out 6 loaded. In Norfolk only 2 are loaded with live rounds. For sowing now over there I'd take the chance of going without if the aphid trap counts were low.

I would not entertain drilling wheat without it now really, unless you are latituding instead. Not after the shenanigans we had down this way two years ago.

A LOT of the wheat I look after never sees any post-em treatment until Mid-March.
