Seed Potatoes going to Russia

I hope some you on here with your high morals apply them to your own business and personal lives, i have my doubts tho 🤡.

It's called 'integrity'. You should try it sometime... 😘

I've just re-read the 919 line 'Sustainable Farming Initiative' questionnaire that every PepsiCo grower around the globe has to complete.
It effectively washes PepsiCo's hands of any wrongdoing that might be discovered down the line, so they as a corporation can distance themselves from 'modern slavery' and environmental crimes. There are some real gems, "Pregnant women must not apply chemicals" and the inference that farmers must not clear indigenous populations from their lands, and hundreds of other 'virtue signalling' questions to make out PepsiCo have a corporate heart.
How ironic that they then persist in doing business in a corrupt and exploitative country that invades it's peaceful neighbour and indiscriminately murders its population.

The spuds are just one example. Big international businesses don’t want the fallout sitting their Laps when the fingers get pointed. No different than America and Europe want to kick putins ass back to Russia with a counter invasion but if Putin pushes the nuclear button none of the politicians want to be held responsible for causing it.

Anyone know Tim Halliwell?
Suspect it’s a Henry Kirk of Denny you need.

What should happen to the tatties instead?

Ware trade a non event, EU and NI markets shut by Brexit, English growers importing Dutch seed instead of home grown Scottish or Yorkshire.

These chaps had gone out and found a new market, despite the hapless politics of the last decade, and at the final hurdle the rugs pulled. They’re in a corner here, not of their own making.

There’s no way anyone could’ve foreseen the events in Ukraine when the wheels set in motion on this deal, you’ll be talking years ago.

So what should they do? Tell the growers sorry, you’re just gonna have to stock feed them old boy, take it on the chin? Because if it’s a variety specific to that job, no one else is gonna buy 2000t of them.

The only players in the deal that I can see with deep enough pockets to sort this out are PepsiCo and Scotgov (but unless they’re transgender potatoes, Nippy will probably not be interested) so perhaps it would be more productive to go banging on PepsiCo’s social media doors to get it amicably resolved than continue this witch-hunt against a potato growers co-op caught up in world events who undoubtedly wish they weren’t.

It’s not a few Tatties…
Its about 43 million Ukrainians who just want to live their lives as they want….
Not to be subjected to Soviet style squalor..or a bullet in the back…
Its called Freedom…something we take for granted
Others are not so lucky…
