Was supposed to be cleaning seed but sitting with a hot water bottle on my back
Yes, but look at the active ingredients and then buy a 5L flag leaf fungicide can etc.. about 100 times cheaper. Is it possible to buy seed dressings to apply yourself
Interesting. Iām in the same boat. Iāve got a seed crop sitting in the shed that was harvested ages ago. Passed two germ tests but no collection, Iāve been told theyāre struggling to get transport. As a grower of seed crops I can say that so far only one load has been collected from farm.
I can see that I am going to be left with sheds full of good seed as farmers will have planted HSS by the time the seed plants are able to collect anymore.
It needs a different formulation to stick it to seed. Probably not that expensive to make though.Yes, but look at the active ingredients and then buy a 5L flag leaf fungicide can etc.. about 100 times cheaper.
Ordered some new seed 20 weeks ago at Ā£370/t and still not arrived. Anybody think they are hoping Iāll cancel because they can resell at a higher price? Thatās off two completely separate suppliers as well.Im getting the vibe from from my arable pals that like everything else the price is rising but more concerning is the availability and delivery time , are others in the same boat waiting for seed
To be honest I am not too bothered if my new stuff doesnāt turn up as long as I know before the dressers turn up so I can get a bit more farm saved done. They did say deliveries where on target when I spoke to them Friday so will see.Ordered some new seed 20 weeks ago at Ā£370/t and still not arrived. Ordered some wheat castello at 10.30am Monday delivered 1pm Tuesday. shop local the answer
and why is that? could it be that the multi nationals have through their moddus operandi eliminated the small guys and are hell bent on controlling the market wether for inputs or outputs and a lot of folk have been suckered in with buy now pay later deals which resut in for the producer a few Ā£ less on sales and a few few pounds more on inputsI cannot think of anywhere local who does seed anymore
nothing to do with the choice of variety ?,try ordering on same delivery terms lets say skyscraper or any barley up here just saying/joshingOrdered some wheat castello at 10.30am Monday delivered 1pm Tuesday. shop local the answer

I rang around just asked what was available. Was offered exstase but already have enough exposure to it.dont take this the wrong way, but how come they could deliver costello and not the others
ok see your point but as you can properly gather wouldnt have been my first choice nor would I go along with the line that seed tonnage had dressed out better than expected it just doesntI rang around just asked what was available. Was offered exstase but already have enough exposure to it.
Costello was available due to there seed tonnage had dressed out better than expected so it was bagged and ready to go. After reading on here people struggling to get seed delivered it would be silly to pass it up.
I will let you know in a monthreally ,up here the rain has done a power of good will save a fortune in diesel and man hours
