Seeking Metal Detecting Permissions in Mid Wales

Hi folks,

My young son and I took up metal detecting last year to help us get through the lockdown months. Despite finding a lot of modern coins in our locality there have been limited places for us to legally detect and we are running out of options.

My son (14) who loves his hobby with a passion, has recently been watching YouTube videos and has suggested that the best place to go is farm land, but I explained that this land is private so we would need permission.

What I'd like to ask then is whether there are any kind farmer's here in Mid Wales, particularly Powys, where we could spend a day out searching on your land? We are based in Newtown.

Of course we will share anything we find and will replace all holes neatly.

I have recently joined the National Council for Metal Detecting so I can provide ID etc.

If anyone would be kind enough to reply it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for reading 🙂👍

Hi I have land in mid Wales if your still interested pm me
Apologies, I hope you don't mind me jumping on here. My partner is also looking for permission to detect on farm land in Wales, he has NCMD license and has me as a designated hole filler..🤣

If you'd be happy to discuss, I can send you a message?

Thanks,
Rach :)
