Seized overrun clutch

Got one seized solid, feeding a set of spinning discs. Have tried a pipe wrench on it with a long pipe and not even looking at it.

Im assuming a lot of heat will be required to loosen the circlip and open it? Any tips?

There’s a grease nipple in the yoke end and when you fill it it comes out the shaft socket

Getting the clip off intact might be the challenge, she’s pretty tight, as in solid

Tap it all round first with a thick punch ,break the rust out the groove

As above if you leave it in a bucket of diesel try and turn it the way it freewheels and give it a bat or three with a hammer it should free off

Will try the diesel and blunt force trauma route first I think, I like repairing things

Forgot. Its like this:

Don’t waste your time soaking in diesel. That’s never worked in engineering history.
It needs to come apart. The circlips will come out with a bit of care. Then pull the centre out. A good few snacks with hammer round the outside should break the rust.
advisable to drape a towel over it as it comes apart so the pawls don’t ping everywhere.
clean it up and back together

Soaking it in diesel and hitting didn’t work…

i take it I’ve got the supposed rotation direction right?

Can’t get the circlip to budge, soaked it, heated it, had the circlip plier in one hole and hitting it with the hammer and still nothing. Grrr
