Self cure mastitis

We’ve been dipping our feet in the water with letting our 5000 litre spring calving x breds self cure. They’re mid lactation and our mastitis is nearly always strep uberis. We just strip, milk as normal, disinfect unit and uddermint 1/4 after they milk out. Been doing this for a month or so. There’s still a few clots and a bit of swelling but they seem happy enough. Any tips and how long would you udder mint for?
TIA

We are big fans of strep Uberis 🙁
We have found that self curing will get rid of the clots but not the cell count and they will occasionally have a swollen quarter. We have found drying off the quarter gives better cure rates and removes the human element of having to dip units in between cows, which always goes well !
Regarding uddermint we always use for a week as part of a treatment protocol.

Been doing the same for 5years and more .
Just use udermint as necessary really .You sort of get to know whether it's doing anygood or not . Healthy cows will return to normal usually .Have 2 high cell count cows currently milking in bucket out of 110
Cc 120 average below 200
Bacto last 3 test 8,5,8

I haven't milked in year, but then the rule was to try alternatives to antibiotics first, so we like the OP would draw out the quarter, massage with Uddermint and various equivalents. I think we even got organic tubes, which I never used, but I hear were hit and miss anyway. If the cow didn't improve, then we would use an antibiotic tube. before others jump on saying its not different to conventional it is. We dont get to treat the same, or the same timeframe. As a result, we have a lot of cows, with 3 quarters,, and even 2 quarters. I was hoping to get the parlour Information system running, which would show what cows were getting effected, how much we were loosing in milk, and if any link was in bloodline. Theres cows, that never seem to get mastitis, and Id rather replacements out of them.
