I bought a gem sapphire from a chap on here, it's been a great machine and very reliable. I was a bit cautious as the trailed I had before was 10 years newer than the gem however, the gem had been well looked after.
So far I have only spent on preventative maintenance rather than breakdowns, hopefully this will continue.
I'm covering about 5-6000 acres a year.

Still running old sp DDB now 30 years old, spent very little really, normal pump overhalls and nozzle changes.

Upgraded to similar with auto section control, auto rate control, new pipework etc, keeping old one for backup/breakdowns

@Mr Charisma just wondering what auto box you have in yours is it a disco? We have a torqueflite 727 auto box

Same as you , think I used our chaviot for 8 or 9 years in anger , it was only the gear box that really gave me any angst ,,,,,, we knew it was having a few issues so one summer we borrowed some neighbours tank legs ,,,,,, so tank was of in literally 10 mins , unbolted the drive shaft , one Bowden cable , a couple of bolts holding the box and then just the ring of bolts holding box to engine ,,,,,,, think from start to finish it was just over the hour to take the box out , slightly longer to line up and put back in ,,,,,,, but took gear box to a automatic gearbox repairer and I think the job cost just over 600quid to have reconditioned

,,,,,, very tidy one just come up on the facebook sprayer drivers uk page for just over 5 k ,,,,, very affordable self propelled sprayer in my books , okay not the most elegant but they will travel when most have given up ,

Nothing against it at all ive no doubt she's a great machine [emoji106][emoji108] heart set now on a gem sapphire, think il go with that after havin an old one before!!

My Bateman rb 15 is up for sale, has been a brilliant machine with hardly any trouble, just time to go bigger, had a few more ha recently and want a bit more modern. Owner driver for last 11 years and will be sad to see it go.
