Germany 93%, I’m impressed .
aamoi Is that the most food self sufficient country in the World ?
and i know you mean food but people need more than food , what if you included power, mineral deposits . timber etc coupled with a population 'that fitted '
In that respect would it be somewhere like Australia ? that would be potentially the best bet place to live in in the future if you see what i mean...

Surely some countries must have a surpless, not every country can import more than they produce, as where does it come from.

The only country in Europe that’s self-sufficient is France. Other countries in the exclusive club of self sufficiency: Canada, Australia, Russia, India, Argentina, Burma, Thailand, the U.S. and a few small others. You can see how your country compares on this map.

I'm not so sure about Australia with all the droughts, wildfires etc. Wouldn't take much for things to become really difficult down there, is my impression. But I'm no expert and @Farmer Roy will have a more informed view.

The SE coast is a fairly safe bet ,that's generally way different than further in . and the variety of stuff they can grow up the NE it would be well catered for
sensible population is key as mentioned.

same disruption of some sort :unsure:will be all over the World like what's its going to be like here if the jetstream continues to be more and more disrupted ??

the biggest to us is issues with international trade & transport, as our Ag industries are so reliant on exports

we would have no trouble feeding ourselves even with a massive downturn, but international markets are more lucrative

PS - we are a very large country with a very diverse range of geography, environments & climate . . .

Aus is not a country - it is a continent! Three quarters the size of Europe. With just 26million folk. Something I fear we Europeans forget! Cheers.
