Perhaps we could produce a little more and reduce some of that importing which would make us even better ?According to the news we (uk) import 5 times the amount of food we export. So surely that makes us good?

Other countries in the exclusive club of self sufficiency: Canada, Australia, Russia, India, Argentina, Burma, Thailand, the U.S. and a few small others. I'm not so sure about Australia with all the droughts, wildfires etc. Wouldn't take much for things to become really difficult down there, is my impression. But I'm no expert and @Farmer Roy will have a more informed view.aamoi Is that the most food self sufficient country in the World ?

the biggest to us is issues with international trade & transport, as our Ag industries are so reliant on exports
we would have no trouble feeding ourselves even with a massive downturn, but international markets are more lucrative
PS - we are a very large country with a very diverse range of geography, environments & climate . . .
