We have 3 Kubota varios and they are great to drive. So easy, would never go back to gearbox/poweshift.
Cant say ive ever once not been able to change hi/lo on the massey from cold mind ???My one issue with the Fendt is it won’t change from field to road range before the transmission oil is 10 degrees C. It needs to move to warm up, that is half a mile up the road for me at 25kph. Guaranteed a truck in a hurry behind me
on the other hand gearbox and hydraulic oil separate is a fine idea

Ticking over 5/10mins not sort it like? i kinda do that anyways before driving it away on the road more so from cold startOnly happens in winter, it’s obviously a thing set by Fendt software. I can put the oil temp on the screen and the moment it reaches 10 degrees I can change range. The solution is to buy a 1050 and have no range change

I thought it was the engines that went bang in fendts not the variosTin hat on
a vario gearbox repair can be cheaper than a powershift repair!
Doesn't matter, you only need to know someone or have heard of one that blew up to be an expertI must be the only farmer who has never driven one.
nick...
Best of both worlds in the massey then... SISU+FENDT VARIO win win winI thought it was the engines that went bang in fendts not the varios
there a bit more complicated right enough it all depends on how you want to use some of the features.Had my first day driving a cvt tractor earlier this week. Spent the day ploughing with an Auto Command 225. Can see the advantages of it but it wasn't set up correctly and I'll have to find out more about it before the next day. For most of the day I would've got more done with the usual Power Command transmission, although the higher reverse speed was welcome on the bit that could only be ploughed downhill.
Or lifting your foot off clutch too quick when pulling away in a non vario and almost putting your neck outOnly downside to a vario/ivt is, when you have to drive a non ivt tractor you keep forgetting to use the clutch to stop

Why dont lorries have them?
Mine won’t change ranges either when it’s too cold with the range button but if you put it in neutral first then you can change ranges.
For haulage how do you find it on the hills? Oh wait, your in Holland.......................Greatest example in my experience is mowing. Doing 15 km/h and slow right down to creeping pace to go through a ditch without a fuss. And contrary to popular opinion, a cvt shines at transport to me.
