Selling Bulling Heifers

I am a real newbie in the world of stock selling as seem to be always under the kosh of TB.. however now i am clear i want to sell some bulling dairy heifers/ yearlings local mart does'nt seem to have much of an indicator of value (as organic) but given me 500-800 quid range. Anyone had any luck in selling at this age.? On line or mart? experiences and opinions welcome!

From my limited mart experience you may be better off serving them and selling with calf at foot

Not much use if you go back with tb I know


Only thing I can suggest is push the hard sell on them

My live stock , Marts can be funny trade for bullers a lot of the buyers buying theM out the store .

Or in calf, or - most likely to shift - with a calf at foot and in calf. (sexed semen seems a sensible idea )

I think the OP is about selling organic DAIRY bulling heifers? Pretty sure that's how it reads?

Thankyou for your replies. Yeah it is dairy heifers. I am overstocked and things are desperate in the milk price front thx to covid so looking for best value before the inevitable tb fail in September!!.

Not sure if this would suit, but have you tried ringing one of the professional dairy cattle auction firms? If they are any use they ought to have a register of men looking for dairy cattle of all kinds? You don't see many organic cattle through the ring but they must be traded somewhere to the appropriate buyers? Don't know, but it sounds sensible to me. (Then again I've had 2 pints of shandy tonight so it might be total crap) ?

A lot of organic stock is traded on OF&G website, even if your with a diffrent organic board. We just purchased incalf organic fre heifers due autumn just over £1000 a pease.

Try Danny Davies Dairy Stock ( Cuckoo mill, Haverfordwest) can’t to be cheaper than going to Belgium and Holland?
