Semeato - Disc drill musings

I talked to Stephan who was until recently with SEMEATO France who told me that he just lost his job as CNH had taken over SEMEATO distribution and was painting their drills blue. His Uncle who very kindly arranged for me to join him allong with a local farming group for dinner, runs both a SEMEATO and a JD750 finds that the SEMEATO is better after grain maize for cutting through the trash than the JD. He apparently is also using/has tried this year an Amazone drill that injects individual seeds (Maize) into the ground. I didnt really get the name of it.

Have you heard what Alfred Gassler will be doing in the future without Semeato..? I just wonder if New-Holland will try and market the Semeato machines in the UK.
I think Semeato are making a big mistake in France (and Europe) because the only thing that would have made me buy a Semeato drill would have been Alfred Gassler...I have been to his farm and attended one of his meetings and he was selling a system (which the Semeato drill just happened to work with)...he understands the concept...which I doubt whether a N-H salesperson could even begin to comprehend....We are even seeing that a company like Sulky has formed a sister company Sky Agriculture to market their no-till drills which indicates to me that to be successful in the CA/No-Till bussiness you have to specialise...

I heard about the accord between CNH and Semeato. But I didn't call yet to Alfred, to know his version.

And I agree with you about the mistake of semeato if Gassler is out of the business. For me, he is the best argue of the machine.

To sell the machines is something, but in DD it's not enough, in my opinion.

I give you news, when I have some.
