Semen Flask

We had a new flask 2 years ago as our 30 year old one was starting to get low on nitrogen between fills. When it was drained we found roughly 30 straws.
New flask seems to loose straws all the time, semen delivered yesterday, 70 straws of sexed semen missing today and I'd not touched it!
Flask drained and straws found but was scaring me witless watching straws been sorted! Vet coming to check semen tomorrow!
Anyone else have similar problems with a new flask?

These straws were so tight in the goblet after being sorted I could not get them out, the whole plastic container had tipped out.
Just had the thought, used to be aluminium containers, do you think that is why this flask is worse?

I have both, plastic for my home tank and aluminium for the field flask in the van. I sell straws into both types but never see a problem. Occasionally a customer will call as they have accidentally lost straws, so we float the flask for them.
What make of flask have you got?

Were they delivered in a vapour flask? They are a pain in the arse when you transfer goblets from there to a proper LN flask.
Also have you 'lined' the holders with a large goblet to stop the LN rushing up from underneath when putting the semen back into the flask?

The semen was delivered by the company rep which I believe was from a "dry shipper".
What do mean by "lined the holders"?
We used to have cut off welding rods in each pot which came with the delivery.

Basically you put the goblet/s in an even larger goblet inside each pot in flask.

Ive had this happen with a dry shipper delivery , they need packing in tighter than normal with cotton wool, i didn't know this on my first dry shipper delivery 🤦‍♂️, the whole order went swimming. I also didn't like DHL delivering it on its side, just left on my parents front step. Tbf the straws did work but i was dubious after the first 2 didnt take

I had some Nenuphar straws delivered by a well known Canadian company, handling was dreadful. But the 1 straw i used held, just hope the other 6 are okay!
