Sencrop accuracy

Anyone else struggling with a Sencrop rain gauge. I’ve had mine for about 3 months, it’s level and free of debris yet I’m certain it’s inaccurate. Take last nights rain, old fashion rain gauge reads 25mm but Sencrop tells me 17mm. On other occasions it’s been raining yet Sencrop says 0.0.! Wishing I hadn’t wasted my money!

Is it level? I host a Davis unit and it has under-read rainfall for months.

Sencrop do seem to have good customer care. Have you asked them?

Yes, it’s level according to the bubble on the unit. Sencrop told me to check that it was clear of debris, which it is. The other Sencrop unit which I get data from (adjacent to another farm of ours) reads similarly to ours. The reason for doubt is that my old fashioned measuring funnel and those of other farmers nearby consistently read higher. The Sencrop always reads lower in drizzle/light rain. Today for example it was reading 2.5mm (refreshed data) when the old gauge was more like 4mm!

Ours Is the same. We have had it since June The tab inside says 0.01" increments. I notice that for some years the Davis 0nes sent to uk are calibrated at 0.2mm according to my chart 0.01" =0.225mm that would not make up the difference. From the 12 /15 Jan our sencrop registered 21.6mm our bayer manual registered 28mm. from Jan 16/17 sencrop[ 4.6 bayer 10mm.
The sencrop is clean and perfectly level. I don't want to alter the stops under the spoons until I know the calibration on the software is correct. I notice another sencrop near us registers roughly the same as us,but his neighbor gets much more in his manual guage.
