We need to replace a septic tank on a small 1 bedroom cottage. Just wondering if there is any difference between the 'Onion' type or horizontal tank type. Or should I make something out of concrete.

Can anyone give any recommendations. Don't want cheap sh!t that will need replaced quickly but no point spending a fortune that isn't needed.

Thanks

If your half skilled the onion types aren't a problem to install, don't do like my dad and leave a numpty in charge of the hosepipe while you go off to cricket  he came home to find it floating.

put hundreds of the onion type in its a doddle if you take your time, the shallow dig tanks make life easier ,septic tanks are easy with a bit of thought, keep it simple,i have visted many places with the bio disc type and there have been issues ,

The only difficulty with the onions is you are supposed to fill inside and outside at the same rate IIRC to keep them stable and the pressure even. Not always that easy to do.
