Serious Question Re " What farm do you want to buy with roll over money"

A big Georgian pile with a model farm behind it (buildings must lend themselves to conversion in to heated garages). A long drive up to it through parkland.

A discreet road off to one side that goes to the modern buildings (out of sight of the House). Free-draining land, ring-fenced etc etc.

Must be and extremely low crime area, that is very close to a small, upmarket town and has a small city under an hour away with plenty of amenities and society.

Oh, and a good race circuit relatively near by.

Buy a bit of prime Commercial property in large city let it out on a full repair tenancy sit back and collect rent!
Or buy a farm and watch it disappear whilst fighting the weather defra tresspassers do gooders grain merchants fert sales men crop walkers cattle dealers snake oil salesmen and many others who will push your blood pressure up bank balance down mood bad .
But on the rare occasion like this morning it might be worth checking on ewes and lambs in some nice spring sunshine.
But seriously think about option one

As above what type of farm/estate would you be looking to invest in ,sporting ,farming potential or other.

All depends if I needed to keep generating income, or somewhere just to lose some cash.

If the latter, I'd go for a ringfenced farm, with a big detached farmhouse with spectacular views and a couple of farm cottages. I'd like remote, but not in Scotland. An island of 2-8000 acres would do.

Then I'd turn the farm into my own sporting paradise. (y)
