I shook hands on some cattle 2 weeks ago agreed a price told him to get them tested, comes the next week cattle passed I said I'd pick them up Monday as I wanted to sell ewes first. He gave me a paper with bank details on but that was it. Rang Monday before going have you bacs money "no you never said" told him it'd have to be the next week as I hadn't time and wanted to sell ewes. Next he's had the auctioneer from thrapston to value them and asked a mate to take them for him telling folk I'd backed out. Its really hacked me off and he only lives 1 mile away!!

Hadn't given it much thought till I shook on a deal this morning - I remembered this thread. Certainly a more 'old school' 'traditional'? thing I reckon? Could also say it's like a gents thank you?
