...or maybe the vendor just fills it with clean oil (or even better, used, black sump oil out of something else) every time a potential buyer comes to see it. Sneaky sneaky!

A word of warning on safety. Check that the hitch has a safety bar in place. look at the geometry of the hitch and imagine where that swan deck ends up if the front of the tractor rears up and flips backwards. easy to do with a big load going up a bank. There should be a pinch bar in front of the ball that prevents it articulating to far if the tractor goes over backward. saw a guy nearly killed on one of these in the '70's, pinched between the hitch and the steering wheel. Only a quick thinking 360 operator punching his bucket down onto the nose of the tractor saved him.

I was only teasing

Our 6610 had received a replacement block before we bought it but the 5610 did 17,000 with only one rebore and sleeve, due to wear.

Every make has it's deficiencies - mixy oil and water was Ford's.
