Shed pics/layouts for sucklers!!

Looking into building a new shed 200ft x 80 for sucklers just now to save renting one next door(it will be used to store grain/straw if subs go/mabye lambing), the shed will have a 20ft passage up the middle not sure whether to feed up both outsides too so i can stock it high, what are peoples thoughts? some pics of peoples cattle sheds would be very useful im considering a scraping passage to cut straw usage

I would say the more area you have that is scraped the better if you want to save straw, some of our shed we scrape 20 foot
water wants to be up the front, the only thing you want them going back on the straw for is to lie down
if you really want to save straw and keep more animals in the same sized shed perhaps you should look at the idea that was on here the other day with raised sloping beds for them to lie on, I can't remember the thread now

I could possibly have 4 scraping passages if feeding from the outsides might need to go wider afterall

On another thread there's a bloke whinging that he can't farm without excessive subsidy because his sucklers are only making him £16 a head.

And then he starts another thread asking about building a bespoke shed for sucklers...

'Boss', save yourself the hassle (and everyone else on TFF), just withdraw your subsidy from the bank in crisp £20's and throw 75 bundles on the fire and keep 15 bundles back for spending money.

There you go, saved you 30 pages of "utter drivel" (y)

Feed on outside of shed, then scraped passage where cattle stand, middle just split into pens or just leave as on big bedded area,
feed passages up sheds just take up too much room, plenty of firms make sheds with verandas.

You must be anti-farming as well.

yes i just thought rather than a long narrow shed with overhang that this type of shed would be more suitable for if subs go switching to more cereals and lambing more seep/storing straw
