Shed roof height

Looking to raise old shed back wall from 7 ft block wall to maybe 12ft is there anyway u cud bolt 5 rsj on to top of block wall or something

I don't think I'd be doing that, I'd bring the legs up from ground level, it's only 7ft of extra steel and you'd know it's done right

As above. The footings are to stop the shed lifting in a gale as much as to support it.

We did on a 20ft shed, rsj on top of wall, leg of smaller box into ground to hold it down.
Been fine.

A lot would depend on how windy your site is, we get quite a lot of wind so I wouldn't consider a shed upright on top of a wall.

Even if we had less wind I'd still make it as strong a job as possible, we don't get much show but in 2010 we had around 3ft of show sitting on top of sheds and a couple of neighbours had sheds come down with the weight of snow load.

It's easier doing it properly first, and insurance is worth taking into consideration as well.
