Shed roof truss and pillars ?

I m actually leaning towards putting the 3 that are off square at an angle. Done a trial run today cutting an off cut of ipe200 to the angle and it wasn't that bad to mark up . There'd nearly be more work in making the carrier beam than making the trusses run at an angle .

the angle is the easy bit, can you work out the lengths of each rafter, how will the purlins fit to? are you putting purlin cleats at a slight angle as well?
personally I think it will look a bit of a bodge also what lengths of timber will you need as there is a fare jump from 15fts to 20fts but sometimes 4.8m are available similar price to 15fts?
I was giving about £250 for a 15.5m length of 254x146x31 UKB that might be a bad length for wastage but gives you an idea? at my reckoning the carrier beam for 1 side would cost 22.2m x £16.13/m = £360
you then need all the flat for end plates etc that you normally would, + extra flat for on the carrier beam + flat to attach carrier beam on (you would probably need 1 set any way)
will you make the rafters 1 piece welded or in 2 pieces with a bolt connection in the centre with gussets?

Timber wise longest timber`s will only be 4.8 m shortest being 3,1 m . Cleats would have to be at an angle all right . Even to go straight with the trusses would mean using 2 bay`s with short timber`s As there`s 2 short bays in the shed (there whats causing all this bother ) . Still not decided what way it will be done slatted tank to be installed first .

by the time you have added a slatted tank and this roof will you not have spent the same money as a bigger stand alone build?

Well the tank part of this project is in with no major problem`s . Was done with a single sided shutter to get as big a tank as possible in

Next part is raising the roof that was originally over this shed . Question on adding to the shed pillar`s . Is just welding the extra length i need on the pillars sufficent or do i need to add extra plating. Or should the extensions only be bolted to the original pillars .

welding is fine if your a good welder and the steel is clean

This is what i`m thinking of doing . Is there need for the haunch underneath the beam coming from the existing shed

The “haunch” gets you at least one if not two more bolts in the most critical part holding up your roof truss than if you just put a flat plate on the end of the horizontal part of the bracket. You wouldn’t do away with the Haunches on a standard roof truss so why skip it on a slightly more awkward bit?
We are starting a job in a weeks time that part of bolts to an existing building and uses the exact same style of bracket that @RWG Contracts has drawn.
