Probably has been covered many a time , wondering who makes best simple sheep weighting scales , had looked and thought hard about the posh ones ie prattley etc , but can't really justify one
Will be putting a electronic weightier on in place off dial , so any advice greatly appreciated

I have the simple iae electronic weigher, easy to use, rechargeable battery lasts ages. No more waiting for the needle to stop swinging.

I have a ritchie electronic weigh crate, think it's better than the iae one. Entrance gate lifts up, front gate swings but is opened with a handle at the back. Definitely but same again if I ever need too!

I have an IAE pig weigher but their digital stuff was pants and didn't last long (had to be replaced every 2 years!). I've repaired the gates several times an they are now reinforced with extra steel. Lord knows how long it would last with pigs. I now have Pharmweigh electronics on it and it's been faultless.

If I was buying a simple electronic weigher now, then I would only look at Pharmweigh. Well built, well designed and will last you forever. :)

We have the older red painted Ritchie crate works well, with the lift up gate lambs dont block it

Also have a rancher, which cam here as part of the Welsh tag project. What can only be described as a box with sliding gates which need the width of the gate behind the scales to be able to open, terrible thing to move and had to weld bars in the top to stop lambs jumping, would not recommend this one .

When I have time, I am going to take the weigh bars off it and put them under the combi clamp which would then be the ideal thing(y)

Agree Neil's comments above particularly the pants-ness of IAE, know of a set that has spat out 2 sets of weighcells.
Pharmweigh conversion kit very good, but I fancy you may get a shock if you price new scales with weighcells complete.
There was a firm from Scottish Borders who had a set at Welsh Show couple of years back, c/w Truetest equipment fitted to a cracking crate, that they were doing sub £1000 ex works. Looked through my literature collection but cannot find.
Worth a bit of research to find them if poss. Link anyone please?
