There have been threads on here about them, try a Google search on battery sheep shears, I am about to buy some too and so I found that out the other day.

I just can't decide whether to buy those sort or the ones that are nearly three times the money with the big battery on your belt and a holster.

Thinking of things I am wondering whether the expensive ones would be less tiring to use and always have a handy parking place when you are fighting the next sheep into the head yoke or wherever.
Then I am wondering if the curly cable on those ones would get in the way or be too tight when you are clipping cattle along their backs for winter.

Having many battery powered things on the farm already I am wondering about the balance of the thing in your hand and whether I need yet another charger to lose, catch fire or whatever too.

Somedays I don't feel decisive...........

Depends what you want. If you want a handy one to do odd and sods the above is better.
If you want to use it all day , then you would probably be better off with the semi corded ones.

perhaps decisions would be made easier if all the many different variety of batteries and chargers for cordless stuff.....where standardised .

the battery costs huge percentage of the job, afterall.

as well as being better for the humviroment (y)

(manufacturers take note )

The Horner, Mudge, Masterclip and Highway Shearing version of the Li-ion hand machine are all the exact same as the Welsh Shearing pictured above... and all come from China (and are good machines!!), Just the colour changes...(y)

How much more standardised do you want?:ROFLMAO:

They can be bought on eBay, direct from China, for around half the price quoted by most suppliers here.

I use the battery clippers from, Welsh Shearing Equipment. I have three batteries with it, and am very pleased with it.
Also the service the service from Welsh Shearing Equip is excellent.

I meant cordless stuff in general right down to things like phones.

It can be done, I'm sure.

Aye you're right there... I'm surprised the big bad EU  hasn't pushed for standardisation of batteries of drills etc before now... It'd make life so much easier.

Mind you - was that not supposed to happen on mobile phones with the mini-USB charger point?? Crap-ple still use their own
