We have just built a mobile dip for our own use , and on the relevant permit application forms it mentions that you can apply an enzyme to the used dip to reduce the OP by some 90-98% , and makes it more acceptable for tipping on land .
However when we questioned the NRW (Wales) they had no idea of a product that was available , we then asked a Dip manufacturer and their vet said that she had never heard of it ... Has anybody ever used it ? If so is it still available and where ?

This is the only deactivating agent that I am aware of. It would have been useful to have had during the compulsory-dipping era.

I’ve seen that on the permits we have too. I have not come across anything either it’s been on the three permits we have for 20 odd years now.

There used to be a Enzyme that could be used but it is now no longer available to be usedand has not been legal in the uk for a long time now, hence why vets and dip manufacturers dont know much about it.

It still is available in Europe. There is nothing at all now that can be added to a dip to reduce the chemical compositions any faster than it naturally breaking its self down

Thanks for that , its been rather confusing .. I assume that getting rid with an enzyme would have been easier legally ? In the process of getting a permit for disposal on our own land , which seems ok . A mate has a farm and wants us to do his , I assume I can't tip his dip on our land ?
He will need to get a similar permit for his land ? Is that the cheapest way of doing it ...
some guy suggested that it costs £800 to get rid of 1000 gallons , which frankly means that people won't dip .

Another case of the working man paying more than his share for another level of bulls**t that keeps others in jobs.

All the Enzyme did was break down the chemical composition faster and rendered it dirty water. Much like it dose on its own now but just tskes longer.

As for disposing of outher peoples waste dip on your land that is s big no no!. Yes he will need to apply for a license of his own unfortunately.

I dont know what companies charge over your way but thst sounds very expensive might be because you are only getting ride of a small amount. It costs me 4.6ppl to dispose of waste dip but i get disope of thousands of ltrs a year. I'd imagine its because its such a small quantity and depending how far they have to travel.
