Sheep loosing wool

Got a few ewes and a tup that are loosing their wool. Had scab confirmed on the farm and had everything dipped 3 weeks ago and no longer any signs of scratching. Any ideas what could be causing this wool loss?
Cheers

Might be a after issue from the scab mite main thing is they have stopped scraching. Might be best to get your vet to have a look.

They could have been stressed, by the scab/rubbing or something else, causing a wool break? I’ve a handful of my home bred store lambs that lose a few bits of wool each winter at about this time, but no itching involved.

Could be damaged wool from the scab mites that is finally letting go. Mites could well be gone but wool damage is still there. When I get a dose in the store lambs I usually end up shearing a few later in the season to tidy them up when the dip has worn off. But yes, if in any doubt get askin scrape done!

If sheep have been poor and then become fit they throw their coats for some reason

The ewes body diverts all energy to fight the illness/disease. During this period the wool fibres are much weaker than normal... once the ewe gets back on the thrive healthy/stronger wool grows. The fibre literally breaks where the weak part is and the wool falls away. This is why ewes cast their fleece when they go back on the thrive
