Apart from the odd farm, most I know sell most of there lambs in June-October so this “big” uplift in price has only really benefited the store lamb buyers down here anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️
That’s right most haven’t seen the benefit yet. But us store lamb sellers might have a good autumn if every man and his dog want to keep Hogg’s until May next year.

Not that I got any more than last year as I was sold out by early December, but even if I had made a few bob more, that has been more than wiped out by the 20+% loss of lambs to my first Enzootic abortion storm I am currently experiencing. Anyway, I am firmly of the opinion that the minute the population can get back into pubs and restaurants, and lunch-time sandwich bars and cafes, then the price will drop back to more "normal" levels. I hope I am wrong though.
