Sheep worring

Had a a spaniel chase my 5 ewes this morning. The owner finally managed to get the dog under control after I arrived with my sheepdog. The ewes should be around a month pregnant. They seemed quite calm after he left and they are all 4/5 years old- not youngsters, they are normally quite feisty to dogs. Just wondered what are the chances of now not being in-lamb.

Ewes that have been properly dog worried go ballistic if they see any dog in the future, we had a group of 30 odd ewes a few years ago that were chased bad, all went for cull as soon as the lambs were weaned, they were totally unfarmable.

Just brought 4 ewe lambs home from tack grazing yesterday swollen back legs been chewed by a bloody husky this is the second time, someone saw him the first time dragging the dog from the field to his house when I went to see him he straight up lied to my face said he knew nothing about it, knocked on his door last night no answer drove down to the bottom of the drive the runt switched his lights back on , probably been hiding in his bedroom, what’s the best solution for this ? He won’t own up to it, his dog killed next doors sheep last year the police were involved but unless the dog was caught in the act they can’t do anything?

Who does your fox shooting? Do they have a job? If not ask them to put a hide up in the hedge and shoot near the dog if it goes near the sheep 🤷🏻‍♂️

Something needs doing , the bloke has bred out of the bloody thing twice and kept a pup for himself, not fit to keep a dog let alone breed

Caught in the act then, and the chip will confirm ownership for a claim if necessary

Down here there is talk of DNA testing mouth samples of any dog suspected of sheep worrying. Looks for sheep DNA as well as dogs DNA added to database. Don't know how it is enforced.
