That’s a fit enough point. I tend to either get ignored or called a c.*nt no matter what I achieve so I think I’ve just got a little bit harsher. I am also perpetually tired. Probably something I need to work on.
I should probably apologise to the OP. No offence intended and as you say it is very easy to give a blunt and uncharitable reply.

I can trim about 30 an hour through a combi clamp, it's not massively skilled but you can do some serious damage very quickly. The big goat dairies use conveyors and contract staff to trim. There was an animal welfare case when one team were secretly filmed beating goats, seriously unimpressive.
For any number your going to be circa £2 a sheep. Best margin is 5 sheep or less and charging £50 minimum.

The problem with the 5 sheep job’s are they often have them as lawnmowers or are vegan (that’s what we find around here) and turning a sheep over to inspect its feet would be deemed cruel in their eyes, especially when their BCS 8 and feet are curled over each other from being inside a stable for 6 months of the year on ad lib course mix their the ones that are cruel..

I used to get £40 for shearing 4 pet Jacob cross ewes. I did their feet and fly pour on for free, but got the use of a secure lock up for my quad.
A better deal than mine then...although she does provide an all you can eat lunch and is a nice old style lady.

The old boys that owned the lock up used to get plenty of lamb and accompanying bottles or red wine. We had a very good relationship.

I can go along with that, from a different perspective we only use outside help at shearing time and occasionally a bit of lambing help , we feed and water the guys( and girls) pay bang on time and generally appreciate their work , but if they take the pee they don’t come back
