Shot blasting

I have recently started up a mobile shot blasting business in East ayrshire.
Looking to see what kind of interest there is in this from farmers needing work done.

Are you just blasting or blasting and priming/painting? Everyone who does it around here look rushed off their feet and there can be a fair wait for things to get done so although a dirty horrid job you won’t be looking for work

Can do both, my biggest issue just now is the pricing as not sure how long things take. Hopefully pick up work soon and can get that part sorted out to. Not alot of mobile people down here.

How big is your blaster and compressor (260 cfm is a must for blasting.
I bought a blaster set up 14 years ago to tidy up my farm machinery, soon got people coming to me for extra work, ended up making more money than the farm, this last 5 years got fed up of the big jobs as I'm getting older and don't need the money as much, just do small jobs now as they pay very well, biggest job I do now is car body shells, charge £1000 to blast and under coat 3-4 hrs to blast 30-40 mins to undercoat.
Pricing is the hardest thing, and don't blast anything powdercoated, you will lose money, in time you will be able to look and price.

Have been dealing with a company down south Hodge Clemco. Bought the 1440 pot and got the smaller nozzle to start off with so only need a smaller compressor so got one at 131cfm which is plenty for that seems to do the job fine just now then will move onto the bigger size.
Done a few small trailers, wheels and garden furniture so far and gates they are a bit of a pain in the arse with all the small bars.
