Wouldn't be the first time said company has inseminated a cow to a different bull. And the endings never turned out great when it did happen.

To get a good idea of a beef bulls progeny the only real way to find out is through on farm data which means using young bulls and completing the calf survey. If no one used them it would be more difficult to find the stand out or poorer bulls unfortunately

Just goes to show that theres variation within breeds! Wouldnt rule a breed out based on a single bull, or even a few bulls

When you say all normal - are you sure it's still alive? I've known it that the calf has died inside but not cause any ill effects.

Yes, all normal. Put my arm in again tonight. Calf very much alive I'd say. And felt the calf kicking, when the cow came in for her blend tonight.

Another 24hrs, and I may get the vet out to induce her, if she's no further forward.

Been calving heifers served to lim bull, most have calved within days of calving date. But one went 19 days over, but has since had normal size calf on her own.

Long story short. Vet out, Sunday morning. Very challenging pull. Big lim bull, could barely carry him to put him under the lamp.

Mother not particularly well at present, not eating, given pain relief and synulox.

Ive calved one limi in the past 3 years, ai straw, calved last September, 301d calving index, c section, the bull calf must of been getting on for 70kgs and that ends this farms 40 year association with the breed, I will not be so cruel as to serve another cow to the Limousin. Unfortunately just a show breed these days IMHO.
