Should the BBC sack Emily Maitlis?

So the award winning “investigative journalist” (aka the one who skewered Randy Andy) Emily Maitlis has been accused of breaking BBC impartiality rules by wading into the Johnson/Cummings debate by using her position of the anchor of Newsnight to launch a tirade.

Accusing Johnson of blind loyalty, she said:

“Dominic Cummings broke the rules. The country can see that, and it’s shocked the government cannot.
He was the man, remember, who always got the public mood. He tagged the lazy label of “Elite” on those who disagreed. He should understand that the public mood now is one of fury, contempt and anguish”

And just for clarity, here she is ...

Never mind Emily Maitlis, it’s time to ‘de-fund’ the BBC full stop.

Five years ago I would have fought tooth and nail for it. Now it’s no more than a shallow ‘virtue signalling’ embarrassment to what it once was.

Interesting you say that.

Our friend Mr Cummings is all for scrapping the licence fee ... so no agenda there then

And I noted the other day that the DG, Lord Hall has suggested that richer people might like to pay over and above the licence fee. Good luck with that one, I say

It always amuses me to think that, in respect to the adage about people looking like their dogs, Ms Maitlis has a Saluki at home.
Personally I think she should hold the blighters feet to the fire.
